How Much Does SEO Cost in Singapore?

The four ways SEO gets priced, what actually drives the number, and the questions that make two quotes comparable.

Short answer

SEO in Singapore is normally sold as a monthly retainer, sometimes with a one-time setup fee for the initial research and build. Ours is S$4,000 setup, then a fixed S$3,000 a month which also covers the Google Ads spend. The figures below are our own published prices, not a market survey, and the section on what drives cost matters more than any single number.

The four ways SEO gets priced

ModelHow it worksWatch for
Monthly retainerA fixed fee for ongoing work. The most common arrangement. What is actually delivered each month. “Ongoing SEO” is not a deliverable.
Project or one-offA fixed scope: an audit, a migration, a set of pages.SEO is not a one-off. A project fixes a moment, then decays.

What actually drives the price

  • How contested your keywords are. The dominant factor. Competing for a term that three funded companies want costs more than owning a specific one nobody has claimed.
  • The state of your current site. A site that cannot be crawled properly needs technical work before content work matters.
  • How much content is produced. Content is the largest recurring cost in most retainers. Two substantial pieces a month is a very different price from ten.
  • Whether a site build is included. Some quotes assume you already have a technically sound site. Many SMEs do not.
  • Whether hosting and maintenance are inside or outside the fee. Frequently outside, and frequently forgotten when comparing quotes.
  • Whether paid media is included. Most SEO quotes exclude ad spend entirely, so the real monthly outlay is the quote plus whatever you spend on Google.

What our S$3,000 covers

One figure, actively split between paid and organic, with no separate ad-spend invoice and no percentage-of-spend fee. It includes the managed Google Ads spend itself, ongoing SEO and GEO work, up to two substantial content deliverables a month, the SEO-optimised site, hosting, maintenance in scope, analytics and monthly reporting. The full scope lists what is in and what is not.

The reason for bundling media into the fee is on how long SEO takes: organic results are three to six months out, and paid search is what covers that gap. Buying them separately means buying two things that only work properly together.

Cheap SEO, and why it is usually expensive

What a few hundred dollars a month buys

Not enough hours to do the work. At that price the delivery is typically automated reporting, a directory-submission run, and thin content generated at volume. The reason it is worse than doing nothing is that low-quality content and manipulative links can actively suppress a site, and undoing that costs more than starting clean would have.

The tell is not the price on its own. It is a quote that will not say what is delivered each month, will not name the target keywords, and will not explain how success is measured.

Six questions before comparing two quotes

  1. What is delivered each month, specifically? Number of content pieces, what technical work, what reporting.
  2. Which keywords, and agreed when? Targets should be agreed in writing before work starts, not chosen afterwards to fit the result.
  3. Is ad spend included, excluded, or not mentioned? This alone can double the real monthly cost.
  4. Is the website itself in scope? Along with hosting and maintenance.
  5. What is guaranteed, and in what words? Vague promises and no promises cost the same.
  6. What is the commitment? Month-to-month and a twelve-month lock-in are different products at the same headline rate.

What SEO is worth, not just what it costs

The number that matters is cost per enquiry over time, not cost per month. Paid search has a floor: every click costs, forever. Organic positions cost to build and then keep delivering. That is why the two are priced and judged differently, and why comparing an SEO retainer to a monthly ad budget on price alone is comparing a purchase to a rental.

Whether it pays back at all depends on what an enquiry is worth to you. If your average customer is worth a few hundred dollars and you need dozens of them, the arithmetic works differently than if you sell one contract a quarter at S$50,000.

Common questions

How much does SEO cost in Singapore?

SEO is usually sold as a monthly retainer, sometimes with a one-time setup fee for initial research and site work. DataCare Solutions charges S$4,000 setup then a fixed S$3,000 per month, which also covers the managed Google Ads spend rather than billing it separately. What drives the number is how contested your keywords are, the state of your current site, and how much content is produced.

Why do SEO quotes vary so much?

Mostly because they cover different things. The largest variables are whether the website build is included, whether hosting and maintenance are inside the fee, how much content is produced each month, and whether advertising spend is included or excluded. Two quotes at the same monthly rate can differ enormously in what arrives.

Is cheap SEO worth it?

Usually not, and it can be worse than doing nothing. At a few hundred dollars a month there are not enough hours to do real work, so delivery tends to be automated reporting, directory submissions and thin content. Low-quality content and manipulative links can actively suppress a site, and undoing that costs more than starting clean.

Should I pay monthly or per project?

Monthly, for ongoing visibility. SEO is not a one-off: a project fixes a moment in time and then decays as competitors keep publishing and search systems change. Project pricing makes sense for a bounded piece of work such as a migration or a technical audit.

Does the price include Google Ads spend?

In most SEO quotes, no, so the real monthly outlay is the quote plus whatever you spend with Google. In our Search Growth Programme the S$3,000 is a single figure covering both the media spend and the optimisation work, with no separate ad invoice and no percentage-of-spend fee.

How do I know if SEO is worth it for my business?

Work backwards from what an enquiry is worth to you and how many you need. The relevant figure is cost per enquiry over time rather than cost per month, because organic positions keep delivering after they are built while paid clicks cost every time. If the numbers do not work, a good provider should tell you that before you sign.
